HedgyThese Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Hedgy (“Hedgy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), available at hedgy.app (this site), s.hedgy.app (the student app) and t.hedgy.app (the teacher app) (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Hedgy is a software platform for learning languages (Russian today, with English and Chinese in active development). It provides an AI-assisted dictionary, spaced repetition and flashcards for all languages, and — for Russian — pronunciation and stress feedback, AI-generated dialogues and exercises, educational games, an interactive textbook, and a cabinet for teachers to manage their own students, lessons and homework. Hedgy does not provide, sell or arrange lessons or tutoring services and does not act as an intermediary between teachers and students.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the Service.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Hedgy offers a free tier and a paid “Premium” subscription billed at $5 per month. Premium renews automatically each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), which acts as the Merchant of Record (reseller) for purchases made through the Service. Your purchase is subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Prices are shown before purchase and may include applicable taxes depending on your location.
4. Teacher accounts and wallet
Teacher accounts use a prepaid wallet. You add credit in advance, and a $1 platform fee is charged for each lesson you run using Hedgy’s tools. This fee pays for use of the software during your own lessons: Hedgy does not sell or provide lessons, does not employ or match teachers, and does not process payments between teachers and students. Wallet credit is not a subscription. Refunds of unused balance are handled under our Refund Policy.
5. Free tier and fair use
The free tier includes daily limits (for example, the number of new words, reviews and game sessions per day). We may adjust these limits to keep the Service sustainable. Automated, abusive or excessive use that degrades the Service for others is not permitted.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it, access it without authorization, upload unlawful content, or use it to infringe the rights of others.
7. AI-generated content
Some content — translations, examples, grammar notes, exercise items and feedback — is generated automatically using AI and may contain errors. It is provided for learning purposes and should not be relied upon as professional, certified or authoritative linguistic advice.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding and original content, is owned by Hedgy and protected by applicable laws. Vocabulary and notes you add remain yours; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hedgy is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
